RIP Webby

TempleOS is a public domain, open source (requires source code to boot) multitasking OS for amd64 processors without EFI support. It’s fully cooperatively multitasked and all code runs in Ring 0. This means that system calls that normally require a context switch are just normal function calls. All ram is identity-mapped too, so sharing memory between tasks is as easy as passing a pointer. There’s a locking intrinsyc too. It has full documentation (with graphical diagrams) embedded directly in source code.

This is outsider art. The artist of this art, Terry A. Davis (1969-2018, RIP), had very poor mental health before he was struck by a train and died. I hope he is at peace.

However, in direct spite of this, I believe that TempleOS has immediately applicable lessons to teach about OS and compiler design. I want to use this blogpost series to break the genius down and separate it out from the insanity, bit by bit.

This is not intended to make fun of the mentally ill, disabled or otherwise incapacitated. This is not an endorsement of any of Davis’ political views. This is intended to glorify and preserve his life’s work that so few can currently really grasp the scope of.

Some customers report that KB4494441 installed twice on their device.
In certain situations, installing an update requires multiple download and restart steps. If two intermediate steps of the installation complete successfully, the View your Update history page will report that installation completed successfully twice.
  
No action is required on your part. The update installation may take longer and may require more than one restart, but will install successfully after all intermediate installation steps have completed.
We are working on improving this update experience to ensure the Update history correctly reflects the installation of the latest cumulative update (LCU).

A remote code execution vulnerability exists in Remote Desktop Services – formerly known as Terminal Services – when an unauthenticated attacker connects to the target system using RDP and sends specially crafted requests. This vulnerability is pre-authentication and requires no user interaction. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could execute arbitrary code on the target system. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights.

To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker would need to send a specially crafted request to the target systems Remote Desktop Service via RDP.

Just curious if anyone has developed an automatic hardening script for firefox, with the ability to switch from hardened to somewhat safe, via profiles?
I use Firefox, but going, line by line, through a new install, and disabling tls 1, etc can be tedious, at best.
I'd like to lock things down, on every machine I have, but it is way too tedious as is, going through hardening guides.
Where's the Easy Button when you need it?

Still using old WDTV boxes because they're easy for my family members to use (IR remote controlled).  Breaking out a keyboard/mouse to watch TV isn't an option here.  Wondering what their replacements will be when the time comes...
