Does anyone know a way to convert BAT to BTC without Uphold?

So I've been using Brave Browser and have been using their BAT Rewards program however I don't want to go through their KYC process. Is there anyway I could just tip someone BAT and get BTC or other crypto in return? There's probably no way to do that but why not ask. Thanks!

Can you just use a site like https://stealthex.io/?from=bat&to=btc

Unfortunately it seems like just to be able to have access to your BAT wallet and be able to direct the funds elsewhere you need to do the KYC crap.

BAT seems like a scam until there is a way to use it without having KYC forced upon us.

I mean you could just tip the BAT to a person who is accepting tips and they could just give you BTC but that relies on pure trust that both sides will cooperate.

Does the person accepting tips have to go through KYC?

Yup they would have to have an Uphold wallet to connect to Brave. Kinda sucks but whatever.

Think you can go through Gemini instead of Uphold now but its still requires KYC...just what company you trust more I guess. My answer would be neither.

Didn't know that you could also use Gemini but its fine I guess. I was planning on converting my BAT to BTC and just spending it all since I have no need for it anymore but yeah its fine.

You could convert to BTC and then to Monero (XMR) to regain some privacy back, but you'll lose a bit to fees every time you convert it.

or something like https://tornado.cash for Ethereum.

Also a few BTC wallets that focus on privacy: https://samouraiwallet.com and https://wasabiwallet.io
